The four ingredients of success
To do anything well, you need four things:
- A good idea: Whether you are into services or products, you must have an idea of what you want to do. It must be something that you are interested in and have a good understanding of, so you know you can drive it.
- Timing: The greatest ideas at an inappropriate time may not fly while an ordinary idea at the right time could. It is difficult to determine when the right time is, but your research and incessant thought will reveal it to you.
- The right team: Nothing has ever been accomplished without a good set of people. It is not about having many super stars. It is about having a driven set of positive minded people that believe in the idea, have the mindset to do what it takes, are staffed to do what they are best at doing and working in unison. Execution becomes easy with such a team, communication is not as much a challenge and the time for accomplishment is maximized.
- Leadership: Be a mission driven leader that has an ego about the mission and humility of being. You can do anything only with the gratitude of being supported by a team and the openness to accepting your mistakes, so you may learn and adapt and grow. It is also the only way you will win and retain the respect of those that you interact with over the long haul.
No matter what you are trying to accomplish, ask yourself questions on these counts. Once you know that you are reasonably equipped, you can be assured of success.
