The success paradox!
Notice the Ocean…. the farther, you view it from, the calmer it appears! A pool on the other hand, is always clear and blue and so very inviting! For a swimmer then, what’s the better choice?
For most of us, there are two options for how we want to live:
1. The daily calm, where we have our job cut out for us, week after week, month after month, year after year…. A yearly bonus, an increment, an odd vacation, relaxed evenings, good night’s sleep, a life with minimal stress overall!
2. The tempestuous routine, where there is a challenge everyday, there is uncertainty, days of gloom, and then that occasional high given a big success… and then back on the toes… battling, running, hoping, striving…. Little time to spare, weekends crowded with unfinished tasks, stress , little sleep!
Measured day-to-day, the second life is such poor a choice… the first in the other hand…. That’s the life you want to live!!!
Now lay these two lives on a ten year graph and plot the highs and the lows! You start to see those big hits in the second life… Those unbelievable moments where all the sacrifice and deathly effort culminate into what would make everyone around go… “How did he do that”???
The first life is a swim in the pool… who remembers that?
Now talk about that exciting trip to the beach…. That’s time you cherish and hope to have more of!
It’s your choice end of the day…. Holding on to that pool that needs your constant upkeep or that unbelievable trip to the beach!
Where are you basking?
