Professional Pledge….
You have seen politicians taking a pledge while taking office…. and policemen…. and those in the armed forces….
You see office bearers in a school taking a pledge…. and those finding a spot in an honors society….
Lawyers take a pledge…. and so do doctors…. and then the priests….
Have you been required to take a pledge?
If you are an engineer…. or a teacher…. or a banker…. a businessman…. a computer scientist…. an accountant…. an artist…. a broker…. Have you been required to take a pledge???
There are universal principles…. Honesty, integrity, commitment, loyalty, compassion, benevolence, love…. and a pledge to the effect that “I do solemnly commit myself to these eternal principles in my field of work….” is to hold the pledger to his promise…. to stand true to his commitment…. his word….
Why should such a pledge not be required everywhere…. when you take up a new job… when you start your business…. when you acquire a new client or a new vendor….
Make such a professional pledge to your own conscience… that you may be a practitioner of these principals… that you may hold yourself accountable….
It is only when you can stand that test… that you can hold the other accountable!!!
