Perceived Vs True Value
There is little disagreement on the value of material things, labor and service. There are standards set by the market and everyone comes to an agreement despite what they think it should be.
The problem is with intellectual and sweat capital, especially when people work together based on trust or use promise of payment in future as remuneration. Problem is when there is no payment necessary, and people work for relationship, acknowledgement, appreciation and respect.
Most people like to think of themselves as adding more value than they actually do… Most receivers on the other hand, like to undervalue that contribution.
The perceived values of the two parties are different! And neither may equal the actual value.
What is the true value?
