Making tough choices to succeed….
You always need more than just yourself to succeed… it’s with people that your capabilities widen… your reach extends… your thought deepens.
But it is also people that slow you down… that pull you back when you really want to do something… put their ‘foot down’, just because they can… don’t stand up to their end of the deal… sap you off your emotional and intellectual energies because you are too kind to just thump on the table, to firmly say, “enough is enough”.
Relationships are extremely important. Don’t commit the mistake however, of interpreting it as a compulsive necessity to keep every person who’s path has crossed yours.
Be practical and shrewd to evaluate who is an enabler, who is a detractor and who is a non-entity, in your journey towards success.
You may find it wiser to end a relationship no matter what the stakes seem like in the near term to give way to clarity and peace that could potentially lead you to greater heights.
End of the day, the one relationship that truly matters is the one that you have with yourself or with the ‘Self’. As long as you are clear in your conscience and focused on a noble goal, all things else stand subjective.
