Critic, skeptic and prejudicial….
You often encounter these three types of people…
Welcome the Critic… he is the one that will evaluate what you present and isn’t afraid of putting forward an opposing view. You may not like it… but a chance to hear an honest criticism is often times invaluable!
Try to win over the Skeptic… He will receive what you deliver… your opinions, your products… but he will have to be convinced. He may be a tough nut to crack… but this is the guy that challenges your offering… and that is a very good thing!!
Watch out for the prejudiced… for he is biased… against what you are putting forward… against you! It is not about right or wrong… it is not about improvement or overall welfare… To him, everything you say or do is an opportunity to take a dig at you… To him, you are wrong and shouldn’t be around! His mission is to break you… You are wasting your time trying to convince this guy…. Be smart… stand strong… push back on him politely, yet firmly…. succeed in spite of this guy!!!
Recognize who you are dealing with… often times it is not about what you have done as much as who you are dealing with that determines success or otherwise….
