There are people that excel at playing by the rules of a playbook and those that could never play by its rules.
There’s nothing inglorious about being a rebel nor is there glory in it. It is about expectations. It’s always relative to whether there is a playbook in place or if one has to be written.
If one exists, trying to write you own may not always play well and if none exists, going in expecting one will make you a non-performer.
