The importance of reading that which matters….
I heard recently that by reading 3 books on any given subject, you know more about that subject than 95% of the people in that field!
Some reflection on that statement and a little thinking back into your own experiences in this area… and you will realize two things:
1. It does not take very much to really know and understand things and
2. The majority of people do not take it upon themselves to really know everything about their own field of (so called) “expertise”.
There is considerable mediocracy in the world… The ones that actually make a difference are in overwhelmingly minority….
Now, if you are one of those that is driven to making a difference…. this should be a very encouraging revelation! You are but 3 books away from making it to the top 5% in your field of expertise….
Spend at least 30 minutes everyday reading… Reading helps you stay in tune with a larger think tank that runs the world.
Reading is the simplest way to gain access to the collective intelligence of thousands of people built from their combined experiences and learnings acquired over hundreds of thousands of years!
Why would you want to pass off that opportunity to so easily access that knowledge database and write some onto your own permanent memory???
If you are not reading, you are falling behind! It is a world of knowledge and thought.
It is great to read material that directly pertains to your field of study or work… but it is better to read something… even if it does not directly relate to what you do or want to do, than to not read at all!
Read… gain… grow… accomplish… excel! Get started today!!! 👍 👍 👍
