Sustenance is hard…
Building something is hard… but sustaining it is a whole different ball game!!!
Building anything is encapsulated in a certain timeframe…. you can formulate a deterministic outcome… you can identify the variables that go into its making… you can make effort and cost projections… you can achieve it within a reasonable level of precision…
Think about projects at any level that you were a part of…. think about relationships you built… think about building new societies… think about creation itself!!! Everyone of those was planned, executed and accomplished!
Sustenance on the other hand demands a lot more!!!
How many times have you seen anything… a program or a relationship or a society (oh well not sure about a planet or a planetary system!)… come to a screeching halt all of a sudden? Even if it might appear so, they fail gradually… over time… they come to a slow tapering end until you realize that it doesn’t work anymore…. And then you have to destroy or abandon or stop and start over…. A new game…. Create something new…
They end not because they were built wrong… They end because sustenance is so hard!!!
Sustenance requires patience… constant learning… consistent application of that learning, that skill… maturity… tact… ability to adapt… resilience… resistance… the ability to accommodate, to compromise… understanding… empathy… ability to work with everyone… ability to say no… ability to say yes… ability to accept mistakes… ability to stand strong when needed… a methodical approach… discipline… repeatability… outstanding management skills… situational leadership… and a lot more!!!
Sustenance is hard… And nothing can be sustained for ever! Even God, from what we are told, wipes out and starts over!!!
Sustenance is very hard!!! And you have to sustain what ever you are a part of….
Better accept what you signed up to when you were created!!! And you better be good at it… For your own sake!!!
