Do not adapt to change

I am not saying this as in adapting to climatic changes over millennia. That is evolution over which we have little control.

Change is the one constant in life. There will be times when you see things taking you to a higher level of comfort or pleasantness and times when they seem less than desirable.

Adapt to these and you are signing yourself up for pain.

Change is the only constant. If things are low, they can be changed. It things are looking up, that can change too! And in such a panorama, short-term adaptation can quickly make you complacent, rendering you prone to non-desirable change.

Do not adapt to change. Instead, focus on what you want to  achieve relentlessly. Do not resign yourself into accepting a lower life when things go bad. Do not get overly excited and adapt to too much comfort when things seem great.

Either case, your adaptation will cause you to lose focus from what matters!
