It’s an approximate science!
Medicine is an approximate science. You can never guarantee that a certain dosage of a drug will act at a predetermined accurate level on a random person…. That does not leave the medical field up for challenge as to its validity… it just means that you have to find a good doctor. It also means that there can be quacks floating around, because they are convinced that they have seen many doctors and been around patients who used many medicines... And there are people that believe in such quacks and readily submit their wellbeing to experimentation.
Astrology is an approximate science. There are too many variables at play for someone to accurately predict what’s to come. That does not mean that the science of astrology is up for debate. It just means that there are not many good astrologers who are able to adequately comprehend the sheer expanse of this limitless science. And again, anyone can pick up a book, hear other astrologers and claim to be an astrologer himself. You have the option of trusting your future actions to predictions from such a self-proclaimed astrologer or go to one that has dedicated his entire life to its learning.
Law is an approximate science. You similarly depend on how good the lawyer is! How about trusting your case to a self-proclaimed unqualified attorney?
Software Product Development and Project Management is an approximate science as well! Debate and challenge it all as you may… you can trust your technology to software quacks… the ones that have worked in SaaS companies and are Excel and browsing experts… as there are plenty of them around…. Or, find a project manager and a software team that is trained and committed to developing quality products….
You might get lucky… but is it wise to leave what matters to accident? It’s your choice!
