Identifying the right person for the right job….
…. is not as clear cut as it might seem… even for those that have large teams and access to adequate resources!
Often times the ones that can take your organization to the next level are not necessarily your current top performers…. in fact, some of the top performers in your current stage of organizational growth may not readily be able to embrace an evolved organization and may struggle adapting to changes in their responsibilities…. or worse, resist change and pose a front that you have to constantly battle or mitigate!
Finding “fresh blood” or picking up new people that were successful in other environments also comes with its set of challenges… Creating a situation where too many working styles that cannot co-exist often times defeats the very purpose that this fresh blood was aimed at addressing….
One of the toughest decisions for the decision makers to make is to identify the people within the organization that may be playing one role today but may actually hold the capability to help give that giant leap to the organization by playing a totally different role…. the decisions associated with placing such resources in those new roles and making those tough choices can be extremely challenging….
Staffing…. by hiring new resources or by reallocating existing resources within the organization is very difficult and calls for the management to be very strongly committed to the accomplishment of organizational goals…. even if that means that some of the others standing in its way may have to be overridden….
Placing the right people in the right roles is critical for your organizational success…. Hold the strength to focus on organizational success over succumbing to unnecessary pressures….
