Strategy, Execution and Leadership
As common as they are in our lingo, the words, strategy, execution and leadership, hardly even need another definition. However, knowing the definition doesn’t guarantee results… absorbing the essence of those words and bringing them into your experience does! And to do it consistently and effectively is where the difficulty lies!
There are countless good books… even greater a number of experts that have been giving valuable lectures… scores of courses and training avenues…. Yet there is more to learn… more to contemplate and reflect… more to experiment! And there is this constant need to get better, so we succeed in what we do.
‘Strategy’ is the conceptualization of an idea with a clear definition of the expected outcome within a certain timeframe and budget.
Execution is to carry out an initiative, such that the expected outcome of the originating idea is achieved within the set parameters of time and money…
Leadership is the action and the sustained process of recruiting, staffing, growing, guiding and leading people constantly to the set goals by effectively matrixing their needs, desires and capabilities, with that of the set initiatives over the long haul, while keeping everyone motivated and loyal throughout… defining and driving the plan… focusing on the details while not losing view of the ultimate outcome… keeping everyone informed… and not burning oneself out!
Everyone understands this is difficult. Almost everyone has had his own set of troubles with all these three… yet, we don’t care to show the same understanding when someone else is trying and struggling!
Organizations need good strategy, clean execution and effective leadership…. What they need more is, for every individual, to recognize the complexity involved in these highly familiar, yet unfamiliar pillars to success!
Contribute to the Strategy, Help with Execution, Support your Leader… Be an instrument of Success!
