Employee or Entrepreneur?
An employee needs a well defined task sheet. He waits for instruction. He needs recognition. He needs a pat on his back. He might take pride in his work, he might be driven, he might be really good at what he does, he might make good money and may carry a fancy title… but at the end, he is just executing a set of tasks.
An entrepreneur dreams. He seeks to accomplish the unseen. He might fall again and again, but his drive is fueled by the impelling need to finish what he set out to. He holds the strength to punch rejection in its face. He is tenacious, persistent, undeterred and patient. His eyes are set on his goal and his catch-phrase is ‘make it happen’.
An employee works against a job description… an entrepreneur works for an outcome…
End of the day, it is not the act of floating of a business or otherwise that defines who you are; rather, the attitude that you carry towards fulfilling your responsibilities.
There have been CEOs that have been employees and janitors that have been entrepreneurs.
