People decide with their emotion and try to justify it with their logic….

And this is the one aspect that distinguishes humans from all the other species…. The way we choose to decide given our emotions, often times, requires us to justify it to our own selves… and then we feel the need to seek approval from those around us….

There are emotions that don’t require such justifications…. Respect, Compassion, Sympathy, Empathy, Pain, Devotion, Fairness, Honesty, Forgiveness, Benevolence, Sacrifice, Love!

And then there are those that require a desperate attempt of cocooning the emotions behind our actions or decisions in flimsy logic….

And when we have to justify, it starts at an individual level, with us realizing this self-deceit and then finding ways to convince ourselves slowly and slowly, that the decision was in fact sound…. Over time, that fake woven logic becomes our only reality….

We manage to draw others into it… and that then becomes our collective (fake) reality!

No other species does this… for they are not cursed with the twisted conscience that we humans have managed to develop!

Some may call it evil or sin, someone else might call it ignorance…. Any which way, we have managed to make it an acceptable part of our lives… of our societies!!!

Not standing up to your word… Short changing promises… Politicizing… Deliberately showing someone down… Misleading with wrong information… Not paying someone their due share… Robbing one to pay the other… Exploiting goodness… Back-biting… Sarcasm… All these and more that you may have resorted to at some point under the guise of logic… that you have had to justify to yourself… are really based on wrong emotion!!!

Do you use logic as a means to justify your emotional decisions? And are you even taking the time to reflect on what you might have been doing??? Think carefully, for, you may be treading the foothills of those realms that your scripture defines as wrong….
