Support Entrepreneurs
I was the CTO at a startup which was on the edge for years before it took off.
I worked at a corporation leading engineering where entrepreneurial ideas were slashed down by executives who saw every person as an entry on a spreadsheet.
I ran a global dev shop where uncertainty was the common thread underlying every win.
I currently run a tech startup which aims at fundamentally changing the way software is developed and not every action can be or should be rationalized and yet it must be!
I feel for the outstanding people on their entrepreneurial journeys.
This is the issue with a world in which our identities are strongly tied to daily or weekly outcomes being measured by people who may not believe the same way as we do.
Sometimes shit happens!
Do the best you can. Don’t take on the weight of things you can’t control. Be proud of your failures and successes, regardless of where they were earned. Own your story.
And if you’re on the outside, remember we don’t work with brands, we work with people. The person across the table is doing the best he can. Be compassionate.
The world needs entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs need a support system of empathy, trust and respect as they dare to lead us on paths of uncertainty to bring about change.
Give it to them if you can.
