You do not have to solve every problem…
You do not have to solve every problem…
You must solve the problem that you must solve! But that does not mean that you should try solving every problem….
Being a problem solver is great! The problem with being one often times, is, you tend to have solutions to every problem!
Now if you are truly a good problem solver, you are probably also good at analyzing what can potentially turn into a problem…. and if you can do that… you know for sure that offering a solution or tying to intervene in places where you do not have to, could actually create other problems…. So then, you have to determine which is a bigger problem… the one that you are attempting to solve, or the one that you are creating trying to solve it….
And is the problem that you are solving, even worth solving…. And is the problem that you are trying to solve, best solved by you? Also, is that the best time to solve the problem… What happens if you leave the problem unsolved… Is the impact that grave???
We can go on and on…. The point being, it is sometimes best not to solve a problem…
Bear in mind… One essential aspect of problem solving is determining if it should be solved at all in the first place….
The effort and the sheer human interactions and the emotional turbulence that end up having to be evened out after attempting to solve a problem many times makes one wonder if it was worth it in the first place…
Spend just a few minutes before rolling up your sleeves and jumping in to solve something…. Should “I” be solving this problem “now”?
Do not be surprised if the answer you have to his question the overwhelming number of times is an emphatic “No”….
You will more than likely not regret not solving the problems that you should not have! And the converse is not true!!!
