Identifying the right people…
It’s the people that you have that make it for you….
…. And it therefore becomes the most critical aspect of your job, i.e., finding the right people!
Here are the qualities of the people that you want on your team:
1. They create energy… if the most talented person drains you off, reconsider, for he can never be a good team player!
2. They are decisive… if he dances around decisions, he is costing you!
3. They know when to do it and when to delegate… if he has to do it all by himself, he is creating a bottleneck… a single point of failure… and if he delegates everything, he is probably too lazy!
4. They follow-up back on the expected outcome… if he does not keep up with the details or fails to follow-through, he is dropping the ball!
5. They own up to the outcomes… if he does not know to recognize his responsibility, it is definitely the wrong guy!
It’s people that make it for you no doubt… and attitude is everything!
But it is ultimately your ability to identify and quantify the attributes that make up the people that you bank on to make it for you…
