Humanizing things and ideas
Probably one of the most immature human attributes is humanizing non-human things and ideas.
“I love my car.”
“I hate this place.”
“I do not tolerate anyone questioning my faith.”
Some of the more terrible acts result when these non-human objects assume so much humanness that humans themselves seem inconsequential in comparison.
A thing is a thing! An idea is but an idea: That car, or that place, or that faith, that you expend so much human emotion on, do not share your emotion. They never will!
Be human to humans. Humanizing the rest is a calling for you to grow up!
