There is no dearth of great ideas… You will always have them!
When you have your next idea that you actually want to make happen, don’t just talk about it…. Get started!
Think about how you can turn your idea into an initiative… embrace it and put it into effect immediately! If you know that you cannot bring it to life quickly… be practical and do not talk about it!
If you let it wane after six months, wasting money, energy and time, you are only reducing your effectiveness… not just on this one idea, but also on your future initiatives.
I am sure you have seen instances where people say things like, “we will give this 3 months and he will move off to something else”! You for sure don’t want that happening with your ideas, for before you realize it, you will lose your team’s support…. Even if they don’t fully disengage with you, their excitement level will be lower… their body language will tell!
A skeptical team can never deliver goods!
Nothing can drive home the point that you are serious about what you are talking about like getting things started, staying the course and seeing the idea through to completion!
Emphasize the point that you are committed it not with your mere words, but by following through on your ideas. Drive home your firm resolve that you are going to make this happen with or without anybody!
Your team will get the message… they will support you and you will be successful!
End of the day, it is not as much about effective ideas as much as it is about effective execution… about strong leadership… about doing what you say you are going to do!!!
