Simply put, take your job seriously…. not yourself!

Maturity is to understand ones responsibility and ones part in the whole. Seriousness then is about creating the impact that you can. What say of people that demand titles that they do not even grasp completely?

Titles are for those that take themselves too seriously. And with that comes perpetual inadequacy either because they fall short of the title or because the title or the expected respect falls short of them.

Taking yourself too seriously often comes with expectations from others; not about how they are performing, rather about how they are treating you. This is invariably a no-win situation!

Take your work and your responsibility seriously; and focus shifts to the outcome… and outcome is always for the whole.

It is only when your focus is on the whole… on the outcome… that you are taken seriously.
