Engineering Colleges are becoming Mediocracy Havens
An Engineering degree does not make you an Engineer.
It is not about a piece of paper. It is about the effort and the learnings that that should have resulted in the conference of the degree.
A piece of paper can be secured by passing exams.
Depending on which country you come from, the passing score is anywhere between 24% and 80%. In fact, there are universities that confer Engineering Degrees despite having a few failed courses. What a shame!
If you have an Engineering degree without at least 70%, you do not deserve that Degree. And if you secured that degree by merely writing your exams with no knowledge behind it, what you have is but a piece of paper. And those of you that have a degree with ‘backlogs’, shame on you! Return your degrees and do something else. Kindly do not insult the rest that have actually spent their 4 years working hard and gaining knowledge.
I would like to speak especially to the Engineers coming out of India. Coming from India and trying to recruit Engineers, my team and I have been struggling to find true Engineers.
If you are one, be proud and help the world grow. The rest can continue to live their fraudulent lives.
