Disguised unemployment
It amazes me to find just an unbelievable number of so-called professionals living in perpetuity, in the firm belief that what they are doing actually creates an impact in their respective organizations!
Modern day work is heavily communication based. A fundamental lack of understanding of business communication is one of the most fundamental problems that most workers suffer from.
Which of these do you see in your eco space?
- Long conversations on Slack, Whatsapp or the like
- Lengthy or pointless emails,
- Ad hoc meetings with no agendas or outcomes,
- An inability to neither define, nor follow a repeatable process,
- Constantly rediscovering non-standardized methodologies,
- Manually handling frequent unintelligible tasks without applying automation,
- Long telephonic conversations that serve little business purpose
All these are classic cases of disguised unemployment.
Fire the person that suffers from these and you will see negligible impact at best!
Of all the professional embarrassments one can suffer from, being called out on these ranks at the top, in my opinion.
Fire yourself or get fired, lest this shame haunt you!
