“Did I really do that”??? The Joy of Excelling!

How many times in the recent years have you said to yourself… “Did I really do that”???
And how times did it start with “Wow” Vs “Darn”???
I am sure you were a lot more proud of yourself with the opportunity to start with the three letter “W” word….
If you have done something that amazed you, you sure know that you are capable of exceeding your own expectations! You hold greater potential than you credit yourself with…
So what does it take for you to be able to do that each time… every time? What was different about that one time most recently, that lead you to say “wow” to yourself?
I believe that this is the most important question you should be asking yourself, for if you crack that code and are able to repeat it, you are going to be one happy man!!!
While the specifics may differ from person to person, there are two things that are common to all of us… Two related things that cause you to excel:
- You excel when you are laser focused on what you are doing
- You are laser focused when you enjoy what you are doing
Don’t mistake focus for being nerdy or for seriousness combined with a lack of spark or smile!
Focus really means, that you are in the groove… you are engrossed in what you are doing for you are loving it… you are not necessarily worried about the rest of the world for what you are doing, becomes your world!
You dream it… you live it… you are consumed by what you do… you want to control it….
You may be frustrated at times, but it is sweet pain, for you know that you are bigger than that problem! You can accomplish your goal….
And when you do… you love it!!!
You say to yourself… “Wow! Did I really do that”?
Such an accomplishment makes all your effort totally worth it! And the best part… such an accomplishment, then seems like another milestone in your journey to ultimate success… to excellence!
(To the non-saintly crowds) There can be no joy, bigger than to arrive at such a state ! Work to give yourself such opportunities over and over… Your life will give you fewer and fewer regrets!
