Be good… be strong….
How do you define a good person?
It’s not uncommon for us to come across soft spoken weak people that can easily be mistaken for being good. Speak to them in private and they come across like the most angelic men; honest, forth-coming, trusting and meaning well.
In many cases, they are all of that as well, but only until such time when their stance is challenged.
A good person then stays strong on his convictions… on his principles, no matter what!
But if the same person who believes in all of the same were to be internally weak, all those pillars of greatness and honesty and commitments quickly crumble!
Goodness must come together with strength. Else you are only dealing with a weakling that speaks and behaves the way he does because, he is too weak to be himself; no different from how his weakness will take over the better of him when he is put to test.
I prefer a bad person with inner strength that affords him the emotional fortitude to be himself at all times and with everyone than the weakling who cannot stand for what he believes in.
Be good… be strong! And if you must choose only one, choose “strong” over “good”, for you are at least being consistent and your true self!
